PRELIMINARY STUDY

A preliminary study is applicable to a given web project, after that its opportunity and its integration within the general context have been studied during a system design architecture study.

Also called: feasibility study

Purposes

The purpose of this step is to get a complete description of the new solution for the considered domain. It will be done in several phases, in order to take several possible assumptions into consideration, and to adjust progressively the solution towards the optimal choice.

 to make the decision about a solution type, with a perfect knowledge of its feasibility: costs, profitability, time limits, budget, needed resources, impact on the organization, ...
