Phase DS.0 Start up

DS.0.1 Purposes

 Set up the specifications for the detailed study

 Precise the way the study will be performed with the people in charge of it ( Project Plan )

 Start up the quality assurance procedure ( Quality Plan ) for both steps detailed study and realization.

 Decide to launch a detailed study, that will normally be followed automatically by the realization.

 Inform all concerned people

DS.0.2 Realization actions

 Be informed of the preliminary study and the system architecture design.

At the beginning of the detailed study, you should know :

 the existing system thanks to a detailed enough description.

the objectives, constraints, scope of the detailed study and of the realization.

the functional solution; you know that this one will solve and the normal representative cases and the special cases.

technical guide lines.

 Set up the results expected from the detailed study

reports to be produced, presentations

DS.0.3 Project management actions

 Name the project manager

 Set up the Steering Committee

 Fix the guide lines for an integrated analysis, development and maintenance methodology (of be informed of the existing methodology)

development tools (Case Tools)

documentation procedures

 Identify the needed resources

 technical infrastructure

 human resources

 planning

 budget

 Identify the risk factors (reduce them whenever possible)

in terms of probability

in terms of importance and costs

DS.0.4 Quality assurance actions

 Update and let validate the Quality Plan that will be applied to the detailed study and to the realization

 Define and customize the project quality purposes

identify the key factors concerning the quality.

 Name the people in charge of the quality assurance; define their role

 Make sure that the methods and procedures are conform to the quality purposes. This concerns in particular the integrated analysis, realization and maintenance methodology .

 If the procedures and methods are not yet fixed (new development tool), it is now the right moment to do it.

 Make sure that all concerned people have a good knowledge of the methodology; document it and train the team if necessary.

 Make sure that you will use suitable control procedures In particular:

 take care that you have a complete definition of the products to be delivered

 Precise the way the detailed study and the realization will be received

 open the Acceptance File

 Make sure that the resources needed by the project will be available. In particular, the responsibilities of everyone must be clearly defined.

 Fix the formal review points, or the project Quality Audit points.

DS.0.5 Phase closing actions

 Decisions & communication:

 Make the decision to launch the detailed study

 Agree on the Quality Plan .

 Present the study to all concerned people

let know the Quality Plan by all involved people; take care that all necessary information is available.
